10 Awesome Journaling Videos You’ve (Most Likely) Never Seen

DO YOU KEEP A JOURNAL? Do you ever watch videos about journaling?

I thought not. I mean, who watches videos on journaling? And isn’t journaling pretty much just writing whatever you want on a page? It can be. But it can be much more and much less, depending on your reasons for keeping a journal. AND you can have more than one kind of journal. There are art journals, dream journals, writer’s journals, bullet journals, goal journals, daily or weekly journals. Whatever you want or need or dream a journal to be, you can create it.

So, this week, I offer a curation of 10 awesome vides on journaling that you’ve probably never seen, but should. Oh, and they are all under 4 minutes.

  1. Where I Keep My Secrets has got to be one of the most creative journaling videos I’ve ever seen. I hope you find it as inspiring as I do.

  2. Journaling: Three Techniques to Better Understand Yourself and Others, in contrast, is a straight-0n presentation of three journaling techniques that may help you deepen your journaling practice. Good stuff and perhaps new to you.

  3. Writing Down Your Soul – Going (Way) Beyond Journaling. Janet Conner explains the difference between journaling and writing down your soul. “The most fun writers can have … slipping into the Theta brain wave state” and accessing your inner spiritual intelligence.

Have you ever tried this technique and, if so, what did you think? (I’ll tell you my story another time.)

  4. The Benefits of Therapeutic Journaling explains how therapeutic journaling can be used to process upsetting or traumatic events in your life.

  5. This sequence on reflective journaling is perhaps more entertaining than informative; however if you’ve ever wondered, “What exactly is reflective journaling?” or are new to the idea, this video may be just the one to watch today. You may also want to read my post, Learning More With Reflective Journaling, which gives you specific techniques to use.

the author of this video has made it private and is no longer accessible. So I guess we’re down to 9 videos. Sorry! Original link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQjn9Zom5vE
  6. Ten Ways Journaling Can Change Your Life. This illustrated video may help you see benefits of journaling you haven’t considered before.

  7. If you’re interested in art journaling, here’s some inspiration for what’s possible and how playful it is.

  8. Too busy to journal, but you’d like to keep track of events and tasks? Want a system to help you be more productive? You might be interested in Bullet Journaling.

  9. Then there are Morning Pages, a well known journaling concept from Julia Cameron’s Artist’s Way. If you’ve never journaled before or want to refresh your journaling life, this is one of the most effective and enduring techniques.

  10. And finally, Mary Amato reminds us writers to carry a small notebook with us wherever we go. A writer’s journal is a good place to jot down ideas, snippets of conversation. And, carrying one around can remind us to be observant and curious. The quality of the picture isn’t very good, but I like the message here.
