Website
You may notice a few little changes on the website this week. After four years of a fairly static visual presence I’ve streamlined the menu and sidebars and updated the banner to reflect the direction I’m heading with WritingThroughLife.com. I’m also in the process of testing several new responsive themes that adapt to viewing on your mobile devices. Gotta keep up with the times!
As mentioned in my post at the first of the year, I’m broadening and diversifying the content I’ll be offering to you, to incorporate more Memoir and Legacy Writing tips and Technology Tools for Writers, as well as continue to offer Journaling Prompts on a regular basis. In addition, I plan to release more free and inexpensive email-based classes and ebooks as I’m able.
Book & Event News
It’s not an easy task to launch two books within six months. September marked the launch of the Times They Were A-Changing: Women Remember the ’60s & ’70s anthology, which has had a wonderful reception by readers and reviewers alike.
And now, after nearly seven years since I first put pen to paper, Not the Mother I Remember: A Memoir is finally launched. I couldn’t be more thrilled! If you haven’t already done so, you can learn more about the book here.
I hope you will share in my excitement and celebration and so I’m taking this space to share with you some upcoming events & promotions:
- Starting January 15th
Goodreads Book Giveaway

Book Launch Event
- January 23, 7:00 pm — Book launch party and reading at the Napa Bookmine in Napa, CA. If you’re anywhere near Napa, I hope you’ll come. (Download the flyer here.)
And because you’re my friends and readers, I have a request: after you read the memoir, please leave your rating and review on Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble. The more reviews, the better.
Okay, that’s it for now. As always, I welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions.

Hi Amber
The website looks gorgeous. So excited for all your new endeavors and congratulations on both books. Reading “Not the Mother I Remember” and loving it. Looking forward to more online classes and the vast amount of information you so generously share. Here’s to Writing our way through life!!!
Thank you, Renee :-). And amen to that!
Sounds as though the new year will bring exciting new projects for you. AND for your web followers. Finished reading Not the Mother I Remember and loved it. I plan to post a review as soon as I can figure out how. : ) Great read and I highly recommend it to anyone who ever had a mother. Hmmm. Just about covers everyone doesn’t it?
Thanks Patsy for the endorsement. That does cover quite a few of us.
I’m so happy for you, Amber. Seven years seems like a long time but I know you’ve been involved in many other projects as well. I applaud your completion and wish you much success. Looking forward to seeing your course lineup and more prompts.
Seven years is a long time, but not unusual for a memoir (or so I’m told). Thank you for your readership and support, Maya.
I am excited for you! I’ll see you at the launch in Napa!
Congratulations! Fabulous title that’s going right on my wish list!
Rhonda
Thank you, Rhonda!
